    Ingredients:

    Thyme-infused Honey Syrup

  • 4 fluid oz clover honey (A half cup.)
  • 5 fluid oz filtered water (About 2/3 cup)
  • 1/2 oz fresh thyme Roughly chopped, sticks and all (approximately a big ol' handful).

  • 2 fluid oz gin (The good stuff, please.)
  • 1 fluid oz fresh lemon juice (That's the juice of one medium lemon.)
  • 1 fluid oz thyme-infused honey syrup
  • club soda To taste.
  • orange slices (Optional garnish.)
  • Maraschino cherries (Again, optional garnish.)

  • 1/2 cup creamy peanut butter
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 2 cups Rice Krispies cereal

    Ingredients:

    90 Minutes' Worth of Beans

  • 6 oz dry pinto beans (About 1 cup.)
  • 2 dry kidney beans (About 1/3 cup.)
  • 1 tsp Kosher salt
  • water Enough to cover the beans by an inch and a half in the pot.
  • What Makes 'em Saucy

  • 10 oz diced tomatoes and chiles (That'd be a can of Ro-Tel. Don't drain it.)
  • 1/2 cup yellow onion Slivered or chopped (about 1/2 a medium onion).
  • 2 cloves garlic Roughly minced.
  • 2 pieces cooked, thick-cut bacon Diced
  • 1/4 cup ketchup
  • 1/4 cup molasses
  • 1/4 cup applesauce (No sugar added, please.)
  • 1 Tbsp cider vinegar
  • 1 tsp hickory liquid smoke
  • 1 tsp allspice ground
  • 1 tsp Kosher salt
  • 1 tsp dry mustard
  • 1/2 tsp coriander ground
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper ground

    Ingredients:

    The Salmon

  • 1/2 cup red onion Large dice (About 1/4 of a large onion.)
  • 1 tsp Kosher salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper Fresh ground.
  • 1/2 tsp dill weed Dry (double if using fresh).
  • 4 fluid oz buttermilk (That's a half cup.)
  • 1 egg (Make it a big one.)
  • 2 tsp prepared horseradish
  • 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • 15 oz canned Red (Sockeye) Salmon (One standard can, drained if necessary.)
  • olive oil For the pan-fry.
  • The Sauced Peas

  • 2 Tbsps butter
  • 2 Tbsps all-purpose flour
  • 2 Tbsps Dijon mustard
  • 1/2 cup milk (And maybe a bit more to finish.)
  • 1/4 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup frozen peas
  • salt to taste
  • cayenne pepper to taste

    Ingredients:

    What's Canned and Bagged

  • 12 oz frozen corn (That's one standard bag) Thawed and drained.
  • 15 oz canned black beans (One standard can) Drained and rinsed.
  • 10 oz canned diced tomatoes and chiles drained (Talking about Ro-Tel here.)
  • 12 canned black olives Sliced (It'll be about 1/4 cup's worth.)
  • The Dressing

  • 2 Tbsps cider vinegar
  • 1 Tbsp extra-virgin olive oil
  • 2 tsps adobo from canned chipotles
  • 1 Tbsp demerara sugar
  • 1 tsp Kosher salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper ground fresh
  • 1/4 tsp cumin ground
  • 1/4 tsp coriander ground
  • 2 Tbsps fresh cilantro minced (or 1 Tbsp dried)
  • 1 clove garlic Minced fine.
