Simple Syrup

Servings: Makes about 12 fluid oz

Prep Time: 5 minutes

Cook Time: 10 minutes

Ingredients:
  • 7 1/2 oz white sugar by weight (~1 cup by volume)
  • 8 fluid oz water filtered if you got it.
  • 24 leaves mint Fresh (Only if you're making mint syrup.)

  • Instructions: In a small saucepan, bring sugar and water to boil over medium heat. If making mint syrup, add the mint now. Continue to simmer for 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally. Syrup should clarify by the time you're ready to take it off the heat. Let cool & then bottle. For mint syrup, be sure to filter thru a couple of coffee filters on the way to the bottle. Refrigerate after cool.

Notes: You're gonna have to refrigerate or it's gonna get fuzzy & nasty on ya. The good news is, it keeps pretty much forever if your bottle is clean.
