DIY Play-Dough
Source: Adapted from the recipe at CreativeKidsAtHome.com
Servings: Makes about a pound of modeling material.
Prep Time: 15 minutes
Instructions: Into your stand mixer bowl, stir together salt and drink mix. Next stir in the boiling water. Not all the salt will dissolve but we'd like to give it a head-start. Add oil and then gradually add in the flour. Stir/knead with the mixing paddle (not the hook) for 10 minutes. Move to a zip-top bag with most of the air removed to store in the 'fridge. Dough can be used immediately after it cools to room temperature, but plays better after a day's rest.
Notes: Plain-old table salt can be used in lieu of pickling salt, but it doesn't dissolve as nicely, leaving the the dough a bit gritty.
